Pope John XXIII was born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, to Italian boor parents on 25 November 1881. With a religious upbringing, he entered Bergamo seminary in 1892 where he commenced spiritual notes which he continued until his death and which organise his book Journal of a Soul. As a fresh ordained priest, in 1905 he was name secretary to the Bishop of Bergamo and alike taught at the seminary.
