Police Accountability

One of the do its facing legal philosophy throughout time is the issue of constabulary accountability. When the police are doing a good chore in the macrocosms eye, no one has complaints or questions how things are done but the minute a spotlight arises that is out of the ordinary or one that is manipulated by the media on that point is public outcry and the allegations start challenging the integrity of the police department involved.
As I have referenced in other papers that I have done on confused topics in policing and criminal justice classes, I am a firm believer that the police will never be given a break no head what they try to keep the public happy and am a strong supporter of working cooperatively to get the best executable results.
With this in mind, I believe that a biotic community collaborative board would be the best way to monitor police activity and insure the highest integrity of the police department. Additionally, I opinion that there needs to be a detailed manual(a) that outlines consequences and plans of action for incidents that occur, so there is a set standard. I dont think there needs to be additional SOPs developed, since I am a supporter of the mainframe of police procedure as a whole and think the majority of the publics tinct comes from ignorance and fear of what to them is the unknown.




I think the main key to what would be considered successful as far as the publics view of police accountability is working to make the public feel ok about how things are being done. comparable to the concept of community policing such as the foot patrol experiment in Newark; it may not make a huge difference in stats, but the perception by the public can have a huge shock on a community and how it relates to its police department.
