When coming up with a root word for this paper I had a little trouble. Between coming
up with a reasonable argument to picking the right theory to support my judgement it was a real
struggle. At first I thought that the temper vs. Nurture debate would be a great base
get-go point. Until I read your notes about the social learning theory and modeling
theory, and decided that the information in both of these theories fit my topic perfectly.
I think this topic is very important because it has been put forwardvass by a lot of different
Psychologist, and there are a lot of different opinions. In this paper I bank to present

an affect on a child(observer) and his/her behavior. When postulation yourself, can the
behavior of a parent affect the behavior of a child? It is a few things you must
consider first. First, can children learn by observing the behavior of others and the
outcome of those behaviors? Secondly, Can learning occur without change? And lastly,
does cognitive learning put-on a role in the process as a whole.
Children are often reinforced for modeling the behavior of others (whether it be
oppose or positive).
Albert Bandura, a leading psychologist, professor, and president of
The American mental Association stated that “the environment of the child also
reinforces modeling”. And I agree with this concept. The observe is reinforced by the
model. For example, a scholar who changes the way they dress to “fit-in” with a
certain social group at school has a strong likelihood of being accredited and
reinforced by this group. Or a honest school-age child might model an outstanding
student or class leader. And the instructor notices this and compliments and
praises the average student for modeling the above average student. The
imitated behavior itself leads to reinforcing consequences. Albert Bandura also
