However, after coming to America, many Euro-Americans believe that these cultural groups have supportne similar engrossment processes as them. We are here to examine whether this holds true for Asian immigrants and their children. The assimilation paradigm that well-nigh ethnic groups experience follows three main criterions: (1) all immigrants undergo period of struggle, adversity, rejection, (2) sociocultural, economic, political differences diminish over time as times to old ethnic identity and associations weaken, and (3) immigrant group go recognized as part of American mainstream.
If these Asian Americans have sincerely become part of American mainstream, then why do some Asians feel as if there are constantly being moveed of their ethnicity due to racism in America? Various Asian ethnic groups feel as if the assimilation process has overlooked the persistence of racial ideologies and social stereotypes that continue to racialize minorities as non-white or non-American.



Asian Americans continue to doubt how truly American they are due to not being in full recognized as part of the racial norm, being seen as less authentically American, and because they encounter resistance to claims of being amply American. Asian Americans cannot make themselves less Asian due to their bodily appearance, nor can they change their accent to sound more Americanized. These injustices remind Asians everyday that they must bind together to get their voices hear politically and succeed economically.
However, Euro-Americans believe differently because they see Asians as the model minority. The model minority are high-achieving individuals reputed for their work value-system and perseverance.
