An essay about tourism
Almost all economies around the world count on tourism, both international and domestic, to contribute to the growth of the economy. So important has tourism become to many countries around the world that it is being studies in many universities across the world. While studying tourism in college or in high school, you may be required to write an essay about tourism that explores any of the numerous subtopics in tourism. A small sample of how such an essay should look like is illustrated below.
Tourism can be described or defined as a principle that entails travelling for pleasure. Many people from all walks of life have the habit of travelling either within their countries or internationally to see places of their respective interests such as nature, museums, beaches or wildlife, to mention but a few. When people travel to foreign countries, these countries benefit a lot from these individuals when they receive foreign exchange from the tourists. The other major way that nations benefit from tourism is the creation of job opportunities for the local population within the hospitality sector. Hence, tourism has gradually turned out to be a great source of foreign exchange in many countries and a great employer of individuals. In India for instance, the region of Kashmir has been a great attraction for tourists. Every year, the region has been receiving hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists and the income from the tourists is visible in the way that restaurants, hotels boat houses, guest houses and conveyances have been on the increase in the region. In an effort to attract tourists to the other cities in India, the Indian government has been investing heavily in other cities such as New Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta and others in terms of modern high class hotels and social amenities. Basically, the Indian government has been doing a lot to make several places in the nation attractive to tourists who will come with a lot of foreign exchange which would be instrumental in developing the nation’s economy. It is not only India that is interested in attracting tourists to come to the nation. Many other nations across the world have made major investments by providing recreational and entertainment spots for vacationers. Some of these investments are in the form of resorts. A resort is basically a place that is mean to entertain and provide an environment for tourists to relax during their vacation. Resorts are usually designed to offer first class convenience services which may include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports activities and instruction, water recreation services top of the range customer rooms and cozy dining areas. Many of such hotels are usually situated in the tropical areas where the weather is warm enough and relaxing enough to attract anyone who wants to take a vacation. Resorts are usually designed in such a way as to give visitors the advantage of experiencing exotic lifestyles.
